You Rang, My Dear?

This has been me, the last 24 hours.
I am at the beck and call of my patient.
With all the noise in the house...tvs, phones, kids...
and because it hurts really bad to yell,
he has decided to call me on my phone whenever he needs anything.
I have been busy keeping him hydrated, administering his pain meds,
changing his gauze, and helping him to walk around the house each hour.
He was only up twice in the night (about like a newborn!), but little by little he seems to be improving. And this is Curt!
Yesterday, as he went "under the knife" for his hernia surgery.
Not a pretty sight, but we are glad it is over.
I'm quite sure he will be careful not to lift anything too heavy in the future.
He does not want to risk having to do this again!

I love the cell phone! I was laughing hard in sacrament meeting over the phone text! But I'm getting a pretty good chuckle over the phone calls from the other bed room too! I hate surgery! Actually, I love that surgery can fix so many things... I hate the need for it though. So sorry to hear our beloved bishop is a little under the weather. No fun at all!
My best to ya'll for a speedy recovery!

What?! Curt had surgery? Apparently, I have been talking about myself too much on the phone with mom. So sorry Curt had to have the operation. Steve's dad had hernia surgery a few years ago and it wasn't fun. Give Curt our love - were thinking of you guys. And I will try to not be so self-centered in my phone conversations.

Been there, done that! Orson had that surgery several years ago. John Crum had to help me get him out of the car. Then, we had to sleep in the family room because he could not walk up the stairs. I only had 3 kids at the time, but it was like having 6. We send our best wishes for a speedy recovery!

This is painful to read, partly because I know I'm next. He's lucky he has you to take care of him!

I noticed he's walking more upright now. Must be feeling better. He did move some stuff and work though. I yelled at him for you!
