Well Done

On November 23, 2003, just over 5 years ago, Curt was called to serve as Bishop of the Lazona Ward.

At that time, our children ranged in age from 5 years to 13 years.  A lot has happened since then.  We have all grown up a lot.  

We have watched our Dad and Husband love and care for the members of our ward.

As ward members we have had our share of disappointment, death, heartache and tragedy, but through it all, we have grown closer together as a ward and as a family.  

We have watched Curt sacrifice his time, talents, sleep and even an occasional vacation, but with sacrifice comes great blessings.   As a family we have been the recipients of those blessings.  Many times, as the sacrifice is being offered, the blessings are not always easily recognized.  But, over the past couple of weeks, as we were informed that Curt's service as Bishop would end, my mind and heart have been flooded with ways in which our family has been sustained...physically, temporally, and spiritually.  

A part of me is afraid to let those blessings go.  

But a bigger part of me is so excited to have this guy back on our bench on Sundays!

We must now teach and train him on the Sunday "house rules".  

So, today the mantle was passed.  We love, support and sustain our new Bishop Merrill.
Welcome Home, Curt!  

We can hardly wait to have you all to ourselves...that is until your next calling and then we will happily share you again!
