What's Been Goin' On

Here is what we've been up to the past couple of weeks!

Cassidy and friends went to the lake to celebrate the end of finals!

Haley and friends hiked Camelback Mountain to watch the sunrise

Scottie and Haley hiked to the Wind Caves

Cassidy, Sam and Haley went on a road trip to San Diego

After accidentally attending a Single Adult Ward (over 30 years)

instead of a YOUNG Single Adult Ward,

(we died laughing at the text and picture that they sent to us!)

they visited the San Diego Temple.

They stayed at the "Bachelor Pad" and had a great time relaxing!

Haley went Swing Dancing!

Bennett received the "Scholar Athlete" Award at the Poston Awards Assembly

No Jr. High Activity is complete without a trip to Nielson's Frozen Custard!

Bennett completed 8th grade and is off to Mountain View next year.

Clark was kind enough to deliver the news during the middle of Seminary Graduation.

Graduation

It finally happened...

My baby girl graduated from Mountain View on May 24, 2012!

One of my favorite graduation traditions is the personalized banner!

Since Cassidy was speaking at graduation,

we were able to score 8 seats on the field.

We opted to give them to Grandpas and Grandmas

and Haley, Clark and Bennett were good sports to sit in the crowded bleachers.

The weather was perfect...a bit breezy and mid 80 degree temps!

It was great to be able to get some pictures of Cassidy on the field.

Here she is as the first graduating student to walk in the procession.

Waiting to give her speech, which was AWESOME!

She wrote it all on her own, practiced her delivery with the speech teacher,

and SHE NAILED IT!

It was a proud moment for the parents!

Thank you to Grandma Brown and Mel for supporting Cassidy.

They had other grandchildren graduating at other high schools,

but came to listen to Cassidy speak.

A Whirlwind Week

As Senior Class President, Cassidy had the privilege of organizing Baccalaureate
which was held Sunday, May 20, 2012.

The planning began several months ago as she coordinated with Central Christian Church,

invited the guest speakers, assigned the prayers, prelude music, and student speakers,

designed the program and conducted the meeting.
She was organized, poised and everything went according to plan!

We have kept Grandpa and Grandma busy with all of the kids' activities!

The next morning at 7am was the
Senior Honors Breakfast

Conducting again...

Cassidy received the American Legion Award.

These two smarty-pants were both recognized for being in the top 10% of their graduating class.
That is a huge accomplishment considering the academic competition at Mountain View.
Katie also received a Citizenship Award with a scholarship attached.
