Haley and Cassidy attended EFY at NAU this year. It was Cassidy's first year and boy was she excited! Cassidy roomed with cousin Jalee McCleve and Haley was a brave soul and took her chances on a roommate. Cousin Katie Clark roomed with our neighbor Taylor Willis. They met tons of new kids from the Mesa/Gilbert area. They love keeping in touch with them via facebook. It is a full-time job for them on the computer which makes the mom crazy! They talk non-stop about the awesome classes and teachers, the beautiful weather, lousy food, crazy dances and the humiliation of being asked by "hot guys" for their phone numbers, only to regretfully inform them that THEY DON'T HAVE A CELL PHONE! (We've heard that story the most!)
The same week the girls were at EFY, Clark was attending his first ever Scout Camp at Camp Raymond, just outside Flagstaff. We packed a lot of snacks, knowing that he would not eat the scout "grub". By the second day, he wouldn't even go to the kitchen. Luckily, Clark does not require eating frequently, which comes in handy when you are a self-declared food snob. He earned 7 merit badges, is now a Life Scout and just needs to finish 2 required merit badges before he is eligible to do his Eagle Project. We are so proud of him and all his hard work in Scouting. We have the best Scout leaders, so from a mom's perspective, Scouting has been fairly painless so far. It was crazy only having Tia and Bennett home for a week. The house was quiet and clean, not much laundry to do, but oh, how we missed our Haley, Cassidy and Clark. We were so glad when they walked in the door safe and sound! Love you guys!
