Rough Riders

On the spur of the moment, Curt loaded up the boys and headed to New Mexico this past weekend to work a round up on Greg's ranch.  Let's just say, I'm not sure who was more excited...Curt or the boys!  The three of them could hardly contain their excitement!

They were all outfitted in the slickers and chaps...they definitely looked the part.

Bennett rode Fritzi,
Clark rode Ruby,
and Curt rode Wheatie

Bennett was in his element as they wrestled cows in preparation for...

branding...

casterating...
(yes, they did get some pretty graphic pictures, but it hurts to just look at them!)

Clark was my reluctant cowboy.
He had a hard time being a part of
"making a boy cow into a girl cow"!

They loved being out on the range riding at full speed and also rounding up the cows.

Could they be any cuter?   (or dirtier?)

They had the time of their lives!
I was so glad when they made it home safe and sound with no bodily injury,
even with their mounds of dirty, stinky laudry!

This makes me laugh my head off! They looked like they had fun... but I love that Clark just couldn't do it! SOOO Funny! He strikes me more of the brain surgeon type--- actually, he's not arrogant enough... but maybe the dentist type or something like that than a casterating cowboy! But He sure looks cute anyway! They all did.

I have nightmares of that experience every summer at my grandpa's ranch in New Mexico. Good thing your girls didn't go! Yuck!
