Thanksgiving 2012

Thanksgiving 2012 was a great success!
We loved having our Estes cousins make the trek from Boise for some turkey!
(We missed Brett and Tia, Kimberly, and the Snows!)

ET and Kristin always do such a great job of hosting.
We began the afternoon with the Dutch hymn, "Prayer of Thanksgiving",
a poem read by Grandma, and everyone sharing one thing they were thankful for.

Seminary, scriptures, prayer, skype, family, temples, pets, and a mission call
were just a few of the blessings mentioned.

Haley shared her experiences and feelings that led up to her decision to serve a mission.

The decor, food and company were perfect!

Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving this year was with the Brown's.

Clark started the morning running the 10K Turkey Trot.
(sorry, no pics)

Grandma Charlene and Mel were awesome hosts!
 The food never disappoints!
Curt claimed himself the winner of the "Mashed Potatoes War"!

 Brett & Tia

Great Grandpa Breinholt could not wait to get his food!
He was eating before we even got him pushed up to the table.

Clark not really appreciating my picture taking!

 The cute teenage girls!

Curt, Celeste, Matt, Dan & Courtney

 Ally, Kinzie, and Madison

Just a few of the adorable GREAT GRANDKIDS!

 The fabulous host and hostess!
These two are amazing...Grandma had just had a round of chemo a few days before Thanksgiving.
She looked wonderful and when I asked her how she was feeling,
she said "a little bit awesome".
Although not feeling well, she insisted on having Thanksgiving and Mel is always so supportive
of Grandma and our entire family!
We love them both!

Celeste and Bennett plotting their strategy for the Black Friday shopping!
They scored some great deals at Walmart during the wee morning hours.

I am Grateful For...

I love 7th grade English teachers that require your children to dig deep and express their feelings.

I am grateful for:

American Soldiers and the freedoms they fight for me to enjoy,
delicious tasting food, that gratifies my stomach,
infants that bring happiness to my life,
my family that encourages me to do what is right,
the beautiful sights of nature, and the peace it brings,
my education because it keeps me "on the ball",
sports, their intensity, and the discipline I learn,
books that launch me in a whole different world,
friends that light up my life,
teachers that fill me with knowledge,
cinnamon rolls that bring a shock to my taste buds,
a house that comforts me,
pictures that bring back memories of my family and me,
ice cream that sends a cold flavorful rush down my throat,
and holidays that help my family and I grow closer together.
