The End of the Season

I never get tired of watching my kids play sports!
I look forward to each and every game and am always so impressed
with their hard work and grit.

One of the last games of the season was against Mesa High...a basketball rivalry for sure!
It was a physical game and we had lost to them previously,
so the pressure was on!

Bennett played well, but not without some injury...

 almost had the steal!

During the second quarter, the player that Bennett was guarding, elbowed him in the face,
which resulted in his tooth going through his lower lip.
The trainer and Curt talking over Bennett's injury.
(Clearly Curt was having a hard time focusing...he couldn't keep his eyes off the game!)

He stuck around for the entire game and then we took him to get his 3 stitches.

These guys finished the season with 15 wins and only 3 losses
and I loved every second of it!

Toro Basketball

Bennett loves basketball and we have loved watching him play so far this season!
How can you not have fun when you are playing with most of your friends?!

Bennett is a great defensive player!

 Love my #34!

 They are undefeated so far...5-0!
Let's hope the streak continues!

18 Seconds of Awesome!

Since it is basketball season once again, I thought I would share this exciting moment...

In a basketball game two years ago, Clark's team was trailing by two points.  With just seconds left in the tournament game, Clark made this unbelievable shot to win the game at the buzzer!

Panther Basketball

I never could have imagined that I would love
watching my kids play sports as much as I do.
I actually look forward to their games.

We have had fun over the years watching the girls participate in
softball, tennis, badminton and track.

Now the sports focus is all on the boys.
Bennett is playing on the 8th Grade Basketball Team and
once again I am loving every minute of it!

He is an aggressive defensive player and is GOOD at stealing the ball!

He doesn't shoot the ball much, but when he does, watch out!
Last night he made a beautiful 3 pointer!

He was so excited to get jersey #31,
just like his older brother!
GO #31!

Panther Basketball

Basketball season was so fun!
Clark kept his #31 and had a great season.
He was named defensive player of the year for his team.
Poston tied for City Champs with Stapley.
Here he is in action!

February Happenings

Clark and Bennett have both been playing basketball.
They are on different teams, but play in the 7th/8th grade league,
and as a result their teams were scheduled to play each other.
Clark was by far the most competitive.
It was his pride on the line...
he could not lose to his younger brother.
They both played a great game,
but Clark's older and more experienced team pulled off the win.
Bennett was a good sport and wasn't fazed by the loss,
he actually expected it.

On February 10th, Clark ran in the
8th Grade Boys City Track Meet.
He ran the mile and took 1st place!

For the first time in years, we planted a garden.
Jacob, Isaac and Bennett enjoyed some of the
home grown carrots.

Some you win, Some you lose!

Today both Clark and Bennett's teams played in the league championship games.

These guys played their hearts out, only to come up short by 1 point in overtime!
These guys WON the trophy and bragging rights!
After two overtimes, they won in sudden death!
It was an incredible game to watch!
Congratulations guys!
